December 2006 Vol 1 Issue 10 |
The Canadian Liberal Leadership Convention took place November 30th through December 2nd in Montreal with RF Wireless Systems, Inc. providing the turnkey RF facilities for the event, relying on 15 wireless Camera Mount Transmitters (RFX-CMT) to simultaneously broadcast the convention on four major Canadian Channels. The Liberal Leadership Convention is Canada's political equivalent to the U.S. Democratic and Republican National Conventions. "If not for RF Central's products and team, we couldn't have accomplished this challenging broadcast event," stated Robert Wilson, President of RF Wireless Systems, Inc. In addition to RF Extreme™ gear, RF Wireless provided 30 wireless microphones, 20 IFB's, 11 RF PL's, and 175 two-way radios, and acted as the unofficial frequency coordinators for the event. More than 235 frequencies were used for the entire convention. RF Wireless Systems, Inc. is the exclusive Canadian sales and rental distributor of RF Extreme™ equipment.
When ABC's Good Morning America explored the 7 New Wonders of the World in early November, they trusted RF Extreme™ gear to provide live remote footage from a glacier lagoon in Iceland. The Polar Icecaps were named the 3rd New Wonder of the World on November 13th. ABC correspondent Sam Champion reported live from boats on the lagoon giving at least one report from an iceberg using RF Central's Portable High Power Transmitter (RFX-PHT) and Rack Mount 2-way Diversity Receiver (RFX-RMRTD). Three PHT's were used, two from boats on the lagoon and one installed in a helicopter. Jim Carroll, Manager of ENG Operations for ABC News, had this to say about the performance of RF Central's equipment, "The microwave worked flawlessly; we never took a hit of any kind, and the control room in New York was astounded at the shots we were able to give them."
RF Central introduced its new High Definition Camera Mount Transmitter at the HD World Conference and Exposition in New York City on November 29-30. The HD Camera Mount Transmitter (RFX-CMT-HD) is set apart from its competition by its light weight, low delay, and extremely low power consumption. The unit features the latest in NEL encoder technology and the unmatched high-quality linear RF amplification technology from Gigawave, and is available in various frequency bands, most notably the 2 GHz band for the BAS frequency relocation project. This HD capability will be available in all of RF Central's ENG transmitters and receivers.
Total RF provided RF Extreme equipment to Shooters Post & Transfer for the production of a new reality show. 'Dinner Impossible' will debut in January on the Food Network and features Chef Robert Irvine. Along with his two sous chefs, Chef Irvine will be challenged to cook for people under unusual and challenging circumstances. Total RF provided a number of Non-Licensed Links (RFX-NLL) for the production of the show.
RF Central was proud to be Ohio State University's trusted wireless broadcast solution provider on November 18th as #1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes took on #2 ranked Michigan at the Ohio Stadium in Columbus, OH. RF Central's Non-Licensed Link (RFX-NLL) was used to provide live shots of the crowd, game, and band on the Daktronics scoreboard. The transmitter was camera mounted, and the receiver was placed in the Press Box area at the uppermost level of the stadium. Both performed flawlessly throughout the entire game in a crowded wireless environment. Contact RF Central or your regional sales representative today for a free demonstration.
